For your wedding, your honeymoon, and the days either side
If you’re having your wedding in Milan, a pre-wedding shoot is an absolute must.
Exploring this beautiful city together- the energy, the atmosphere, the people. Going for a stroll in that held-breath almost; soaking it all in before the big day.
But what about after the wedding? Those Cloud-Nine days in that just-married glow; rings on your fingers, nerves forgotten, and your future at your feet.

Whether it’s the start of your honeymoon, or just the day before your flight, it’s the first chapter of your lives together.
And as a wedding photographer in Milan, it’s one of my favourite bubbles to catch.
A post-wedding shoot in the heart of Milan
Allison and Nick had their post-wedding shoot in Milan city centre. And oh my, it was perfect.
We met before sunrise, and strolled through the empty streets. They kissed, they laughed, they cuddled against the cold. And when the November weather got the best of us, we snuggled ourselves into a boutique cafe.
So today I thought I’d take you along with us on our Milanese adventure.
Here’s a few of my favourite photo-spots for your wedding in Milan. I’ve even included some handy pro-tips along the way…

1. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
Our morning began in the achingly-beautiful Galleria Vittorio.
Famous for being Italy’s oldest (active) shopping arcade, this place is heaving during the day. But on that cold November morning, it felt like we had the world to ourselves.
A&N danced across those stunning mosaic floors. Prada and Louis Vuitton glowed warmly from the edges; the milky light of sunrise poured through the domes above.
It is a genuinely breathtaking space. And when it’s empty of people, you get to truly appreciate it for what it is. The architecture, the archways, the intricate details. The floors, the symmetry, the light.
If you’re having your wedding in Milan, I beg you, I implore you! Please make time for this unforgettable place.

Come early! Crowds can be a vibe when the time is right, but a busy shopping centre is never romantic. Set your alarm, be there for sunrise, and enjoy having the place to yourselves.
2. Piazza del Duomo & the Duomo Cathedral
Dating back to the 14th Century, the Piazza del Duomo is the beating heart of Milan.
A vast open space, hemmed in by the Royal Palace (now a museum), a cascade of tumbling archways, hidden nooks, and bustling cafes. And towering over it all: the iconic drama of Duomo Cathedral.
Locals bustle their way to work; tourists chat and snap away; pigeons scatter at your feet. Even at sunrise, the energy here is infectious. And as a photographer, it’s an absolute dream to photograph.
Allison and Nick hugged, and kissed, and strolled through the square. They danced in the alcoves, and cuddled on the cathedral steps. And as the November chill (and the early start!) crept up on us, we took off in search of an espresso…

The Piazza del Duomo is right next door to Galleria Vittorio.
There are so many places to visit if you’re having your wedding in Milan. But if you’re pushed for time, come here and cross two things off your bucket-list at once.
Oh and again (I can’t stress this enough!), come early.
3. Rabbit Hole Cafe
Rabbit Hole Cafe is a fever-dream of colour.
Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, this inviting cafe is nothing short of an experience.
The immersive decor, whimsical furniture, giant roses, and rose-covered walls. Italian Disney songs play in the background, giving the whole place this wonderfully surreal atmosphere. They even have colour-changing tea!

And best of all, they have the most lovely staff.
We told them A&N were newly-married, and they bent over backwards for us. They let us take photos wherever we liked. And when we’d seen everything upstairs, they invited us into the piano room for a little photo-friendly privacy.
The whole experience felt so spontaneous, magical, and real. And what began as a “let’s just pop in there”, quickly became our favourite part of the morning.

Milan’s cafe scene is massive. From historic pastry shops like Pasticceria Marchesi, to cosy bookstore cafes like Gogol and Company, and everything in-between.
Coffee is an integral part of the culture here. So be open. Be spontaneous. And if you see somewhere you fancy, duck inside for some caffeine, and a taste of that Milanese life.
